The Culiacan municipality, better known for its drug cartel and its violence between gangs than for tourism, yet has a unique ecosystem among its 261 kilometers of coastline. With its unique ecosystem, the city of Altata keeps on attracting local people and especially anglers. The region is an area with lush mangroves, gigantic palm trees, corals and an endless variety of marine life.
